Medical Massage

Medical Massage is basically the same as Clinical Massage but uses a different term. The objective is the same – treat an imbalance in the structure of the body so that ease can be restored to the traumatized areas that are causing pain. The place where the pain is emanating from is not usually the first place the therapist works. The imbalance in the body is usually due to muscles that are over stretched and over tight. The too-tight muscles causing the overstretched/opposing muscles to go into a pain pattern.

Medical massage is an outcome-based massage. It’s primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to a specific problem the patient presents.  A treatment plan is administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific targeted outcomes being the basis for treatment.
